Drivers & Downloads
If you have a printer that does not want to “talk” to your computer, you might need to update the file known as the “printer driver.” This is especially true when you switch operating systems but continue to use the same printer. Visit the manufacturer’s Website and download the appropriate driver for your printer.
Frequently, you will need to download software upgrades. Sometimes, this is automatic, while other times you will need to go to a Website and specifically request a download. Read the screen and follow the instructions to be successful when downloading files. Many times, you will be encouraged to print the instructions to use as a guide.
It’s a good idea to create a folder on your computer’s Desktop just for downloads. Then, if a download does not go to a specific place during the download process, you can select to save it there. This will make finding, and later deleting, downloaded files easier.
